The Yamaha U3S has a rich, full and deep tone with an improved bass and extended dynamic range. The touch is more controlled and responsive due to the extra leverage in the key from tall capstan rods.

The 'S' suffix denotes the 'Sostenuto' centre pedal, as per a grand piano, for pre-selected individual or group note sustain.
The Yamaha U3S 131cm frame delivers a range of substantial tonal gains over the equivalent quality U1 (121cm), and where there are lower-priced models utilising U1 specification, the Yamaha U3 is the first Yamaha upright of this size and so, it represents very good value.
